From the article: How to Delete Your Gmail Account
Was it the conversation view? The growing yet limited space; concerns about trusting your data to Google (of all firms); or something completely different?
(See How to Delete Your Gmail Account for the steps to take to close your account.)
What were your biggest beefs with Gmail? What made you quit — or almost quit Gmail? I Quit Because...
Someone's Receiving My Emails
- I quit because I want to open a new Gmail address. There is someone who is receiving my emails.

Many Gmail accounts
- I have many Gmail accounts and it's very hard to manage them all. So want to delete my account.

Change of format useless on laptop
- Gmail was fine when I started but in past 12 months it has imposed changes on layout that make icons and entry boxes too small for me to use on laptop (toshiba satellite) Plus use of hovering to open things is very disconcerting and removes my control over what I am doing. Very disappointed to be forced to give it up by draconian changes.

Confusing
- Gmail is the most awkward and confusing email interface I have ever used. It is truly a "bizarre" way to handle and organize email messages. I cannot believe Google came up with such a ridiculous interface.

Too Many Accounts
- I have many account that's why I delete my Gmail account.
- —Guest lovleen kaur
Hacked
- Someone hacked into my account, harassed my friends, boyfriend, and clients and destroyed my entire life.

Deleting
- It takes forever to delete unwanted messages. Tick each one then press delete and do the same in 'trash'. Why bother?

Don't want Google just email
- Opened new gmail acct and didn't pay attention to all the questions, not realizing that I was putting myself out on the web, as such. All I wanted was another PRIVATE email account. Although I love my original account and will keep it because it is not attached to GOOGLE and sends me ONLY mail from people I know, not news from GOOGLE. I would like to keep my different Gmail account but don't want to sacrifice privacy and simplicity to do it. Guess Ymail/Yahoo is still the better choice now.

People after Me for Money
- When you are dealing over the internet at arm's length, you can get a bill from someone in India or China for some ridiculous amount that you never agreed to. Then they start demanding that you pay. This scares me, so I won't be sending anything with my name and address and am erasing the email account from existence.

Can't Log In
- I quit because I can't find my Gmail account. When I try to search for my emails & always I log in password &username is incorrect. I quit because I can't log in my G[m]ail account.

Cannot Access My Mail
- I cannot access my mail. Can't even find it. I've tried changing password and recovery. I have not been able to use it since I signed up. I've had important mail sent to me but can't access it.

Could Not Keep up Email (Mostly Spam)
- i had to stop gmail.com because I could not keep up with 3-400 emails a day and mostly spam. If I could have gotten rid of all those spam emails, I would still be on. I had to make a whole new email address.

Socialist Google
- They blocked search results for firearms. We live in a free country where the right to bare arms and protect ourselves and loved ones is a God given right not a Google given right. If Google doesn't stand for a free America with a right to privacy and stand up for ALL our constitutional rights, I want nothing to do with them. I deleted my Gmail account and will never use the search engine again. We are a free people in a free country and these same freedoms apply to the net. You block me or mess with my results. You can no longer be of use to me. Go set up shop in Russia, Google. This is a free country!
