If you live in your browser, Windows Live Hotmail is in the middle of your living room (and maybe a bedroom wall), right?

What was that? You say you do not live in your browser? You live in your email program, your mobile phone and your manga kissa?

All right! With the fabulous IzyMail service, Windows Live Hotmail (or MSN Hotmail) is in your email program, in your cell phone and, yes, in your manga kissa, too.

IzyMail provides POP or IMAP access for Windows Live Hotmail accounts. No download or installation is required as IzyMail acts as if it was just another regular email program. All the interfacing and translating happens at the server.

IzyMail is Not Free

IzyMail provides great access to free Windows Live Hotmail accounts, but it is not itself free. You can try the service for free, though.

If you're ready to hand your Windows Live Hotmail password to IzyMail, you're good to go.

Set Up Your Email Program for IzyMail Windows Live Hotmail Access

Now you're ready to set up a new Windows Live Hotmail account in your email program or mobile device.

If your program or device is not listed above, use the following settings.

Incoming mail (POP and IMAP):

  • Account type: IMAP or POP.
    • With IMAP, you can access all your Windows Live Hotmail folders. POP, however, is often faster. Try IMAP first if you can.
  • For IMAP:
    • IMAP server: in.izymail.com.
    • IMAP port: 143.
    • Require SSL: No.
    • User name: your entire Windows Live Hotmail or MSN Hotmail email address.
      • Make sure you include "@hotmail.com". If your Windows Live Hotmail log-in name is "qwerty", for example, use "qwerty@hotmail.com" as the user name for IzyMail.
    • Password: your Windows Live Hotmail or MSN Hotmail password.
  • For POP:
    • POP server: in.izymail.com.
    • POP port: 110.
    • Require SSL: No.
    • User name: your full Windows Live Hotmail or MSN Hotmail address.
      • Make sure the user name includes the "@hotmail.com" part of your address. If your Windows Live Hotmail account name is "qwerty", for example, use "qwerty@hotmail.com" as the user name.
    • Password: your Windows Live Hotmail or MSN Hotmail password.

Outgoing mail (SMTP):

  • SMTP server: out.izymail.com.
  • SMTP port: 25.
    • Try port 587 if you run into problems sending mail with port 25.
  • Require SSL: No.
  • Require SMTP authentication: Yes.
  • User name: Your full Windows Live Hotmail or MSN Hotmail address.
    • Again, make sure you do include "@hotmail.com".
  • Password: Your Windows Live Hotmail or MSN Hotmail password.
