How to Send a News Item from NetNewsWire via Email

By Heinz Tschabitscher, About.com

You wade through your subscriptions and pages of news in NetNewsWire with a clear aim in mind: to find it — the interesting story. You search for that interesting story with a clear aim in mind: to share it — via email.

Of course, you can open the page from NetNewsWire in your browser and then send a link or even copy and paste the content directly from the item in NetNewsWire. You can also take a more direct route, however, and it might even yield prettier results.

Send a News Item from NetNewsWire via Email

To mail a news item as it is displayed in NetNewsWire:

  • Select File | Mail Contents of This News Item from the menu.
  • Address and send the message in Mac OS X Mail, adding comments as you enjoy and see fit or need.

Mailing the full content assuredly only works with Mac OS X Mail. Any email client lets you send a link, though, and NetNewsWire knows how to feed these programs, too:

  • Select File | Mail Link for This News Item from the menu in NetNewsWire.
  • Continue composing the message in your email program and eventually send it.
