Read a Message in a Larger Font in Mozilla Thunderbird or Netscape

By Heinz Tschabitscher, About.com

When HTML met email, this brought about fancy formatting and easier to read messages, but it also allowed some people who love tiny fonts (or have displays of gigantic dimensions, but low resolutions) to act out their passion.

In Mozilla Thunderbird, Netscape and Mozilla, that's no problem. You just shrug and increase the font size with a mere keystroke. Here's how:

Read a Message in a Larger Font in Mozilla Thunderbird or Netscape

To increase the fonts size while reading a message in Mozilla Thunderbird, Netscape or Mozilla Seamonkey:

  • Open the message.
  • Press Ctrl-+.
    • Repeat this to further increase the font size.

To go back to the original size, either press Ctrl-- (multiple times) or select View | Text Zoom | 100 % from the menu.

To further customize your reading, you can also choose your favorite font and color for displaying messages.
