If the question is whether an email is a genuine request from your bank (to do something they told you never to do perhaps) or a
phishing attempt crafted very well — the former is highly unlikely. The URL (the web page address) behind a rich-text or image link often lets you know for sure: in phishing messages, it will try to look like but actually differ from the known and secure sitee's address.
In iPhone Mail, peeking behind the links in richly formatted emails is easy. (Sometimes, you'll be able to tell whether you're sent down an affiliate road, too.)

To see the URL behind a link in an email with iPhone Mail:
- Tap the desired link and
- hold until a menu comes up. The target URL will be at the top of the menu.
- Select Cancel.
