To add your Hotmail email to the Mail app on your iPhone Mail:

  • Enter your full Hotmail address ("example@hotmail.com," for example) in the field provided and tap Next.
  • Enter your Hotmail password in the field provided and tap Sign In.
  • In the screen that opens, Outlook.com requests permission to sync your mail, contacts, calendar, and tasks and to sign you into your account and send email. If you agree, tap Yes.
  • In the screen that opens, turn on the features that you want to sync with the iPhone by clicking the button located to the right of each item until it shows green, indicating it is turned on. The features include Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, and Notes. Only Mail is required to be turned on to access your Hotmail from the iPhone.
  • Click the left-facing arrow at the top of the screen to return to the Accounts & Passwords screen.
  • Tap Fetch New Data at the bottom of the screen.
  • Make sure the switch next to Push at the top of the screen is turned on.
  • Click Outlook and select Push in the screen that opens.

Now your Hotmail emails will be pushed directly to your iPhone, where you can access them anywhere you are.
