How to Access a Free Yahoo! Mail Account with IncrediMail

By , About.com Guide

You asked Yahoo! for a free email account and got great stuff, but now it seems you forgot to ask for POP access (which you can get with Yahoo! Mail Plus, by the way), too? And POP access is crucial since you'd love to use all of IncrediMail's artistic and entertaining talents with your Yahoo! Mail account?

Or maybe you're looking for a way to locally archive and back up the messages in your Yahoo! Mail account, by way of IncrediMail?

Fret not! You have at least two options. With a small additional (free) tool, you can get all your Yahoo! Mail in IncrediMail and send freely, too. With an alternative free online service, you can receive and send mail just as nicely.

Access a Free Yahoo! Mail Account with IncrediMail

To set up Yahoo! Mail in IncrediMail 2:

  • Make sure Let me configure settings myself is selected under Account Settings:.

  • Enter your Yahoo! Mail address ("example@yahoo.com", for instance) under Yahoo! ID:.

This will add Yahoo! Mail as an IMAP account, from which IncrediMail will download new messages (but not synchronize folders with Yahoo! Mail on the web).
