How to Mark Messages Read Quickly in the Eudora Preview Pane

By Heinz Tschabitscher, About.com

The message preview pane in Eudora is great not only for browsing, but also for reading messages.

But while you can configure Eudora to mark messages read after a certain time of previewing, this never works for the first message displayed when you open a mailbox, and sometimes the time is too long, often it is too short.

Certainly, the manual way to mark messages read via the context menu (Change Status | Read) is too long. To turn this into a quick one-click operation, put a button in the toolbar that marks the current message as read.
