How to Check the Spelling Automatically and Always in AIM Mail or AOL Mail

The notoriously small keys arranged in an inexplicable manner on the keyboard, spelling mistakes in emails do not stem from any errors or slips so much as of an inadequate tool. Fortunately, AIM Mail and AOL Mail include another, smarter tool that can check for the little spelling mishaps quite adequately (and correct them, too).

But even the best spell checker is of no use if you do not use it. Forgetting to click the Spelling button before clicking the Send is easy and understandable. Luckily, having AIM Mail check the spelling of every message you send nevertheless is just as easy.

To check the spelling automatically and always in AIM Mail and AOL Mail on the web:

  • Select Settings from the AIM Mail or AOL Mail toolbar.
  • Make sure the Authoring category is selected.
  • See for Check spelling before sending messages to be checked (under Sending:).
  • Click Save.
  • Click OK.
