Forwarding Forwarded Messages

Forwarding something that you yourself got forwarded works like the forwarding just described. Here, it is extremely important, however, to forward only what is interesting.

Header information (unless the one you insert) almost certainly is not. It is usually best to do as if you had got the original message yourself: copy it to the clipboard, delete whatever else has piled up, and proceed as described above, pasting the message back into your forward again.

Forwarding forwarded messages is also where the quotes inserted by many email programs are not that handy. Unfortunately, there is hardly a way to remove them easily (unless you use a sophisticated (programmer's) editor).

"To look up and not down,
To look forward and not back,
To look out and not in, and
To lend a hand."

Edward Everett Hale
