What is a "mailing list"? How do I subscribe to one? Where can I find lists that interest me? How do I get off such a behemoth? What types of mailing lists are there? Can I run my own? What software do I need?
These and similar questions we tackle in this series. Everything you need to know about the original communities of the Internet: its mailing lists.
Last time, I showed you how to create your own mailing list. This week, let's eventually begin managing it like a pro. We will add as well as remove subscribers, edit member information and preferences (this is where you can virtually ban someone) and manage the list policies.
Manager Log-In
Managing your account begins at the eGroups.com home page. After you logged in you will find a list of all lists that you are subscribed to or that belong to you.
Next to the lists that you manage there is a link entitled (surprise!) "Manage". Follow it and you're instantly a manager.
