Organize and Read RSS Feeds in Folders in NetNewsWire

By , About.com Guide

If the list of subscriptions you are following is growing in NetNewsWire, it's easy to get lost in their sheer quantity even with NetNewsWire's smart (New headlines) feed and new-item highlighting.

Fortunately, it's easy to re-establish a high-quality news experience by using folders (called "groups" in NetNewsWire). And there's even an additional bonus you get from organizing your feeds in folders: by opening such a group, you can read the news from all its feeds in a combined view comfortably.

To organize and read RSS feeds in folders in NetNewsWire:

  • Select Subscriptions | New Group from the NetNewsWire menu.
  • Type the desired name for the folder.
  • Click OK.

To move a feed (or even multiple feeds at once) to the new group:

  • Click on the feed in the Subscriptions list.
    • To select multiple feeds, hold down the Command key while clicking.
  • Drag-and-drop the feeds to the desired group.
