Turn Off or Customize the Netscape Mail Start Page

When you launch Mail in Netscape or Mozilla, a page similar to the Netscape home page is displayed in the message area (Mozilla may show something different, but no mail either). If you don't want any page to come up at all, or if you want to customize that Netscape Mail start page, you can do so in the Mail preferences.

To turn off or customize the Netscape Mail start page:

• Select Edit | Preferences... (or Netscape/Mozilla | Preferences... on a Mac) from the menu.
• Go to the Mail & Newsgroups category.
• To turn the Mail start page off altogether:
  • Make sure the checkbox next to When Mail launches, show the Start Page in the message area is not selected.
• To customize the Netscape Mail start page:
  • Enter the desired URL in the Location: entry field.
• Click OK.
