Mail Beacon is an almost ideal mail checker. Highly configurable, it does not only announce new mail in multiple POP, IMAP and Hotmail accounts, but you can also preview mail on the server and delete it quickly.
Being able to write quick messages and replies is nice, and Mail Beacon even includes a small address book. All the powerful features of Mail Beacon are easily accessible through a nice, clean interface.
Unfortunately, Mail Beacon does not offer any filters to automate mail management or to get rid of spam, and support for other Web-based email services would be nice, too.
