How to Exclude an Account from Automatic Checking in Eudora

By Heinz Tschabitscher, About.com

It's great to have Eudora check for new mail periodically all on its own.

I do have email accounts that I don't want to be checked automatically, though. One is on a really, really slow to respond server, for example. Since it hardly ever receives mail, checking it every 15 minutes only slows down checking the other, more important emails.

Fortunately, Eudora lets me decide for each account (personality) whether I want it to be included in automatic mail checking.

Exclude an Account from Automatic Checking in Eudora

To exclude an account from automatic mail checking in Eudora:

  • Select Tools | Personalities from the menu.
  • Right-click the desired Eudora personality.
  • Select Properties from the menu.
  • Make sure Check Mail is not checked on the Generic Properties tab.
  • Click OK.
