How to Spell Check Yahoo Mail Messages

Activate Spell Check in Firefox

In order for Firefox to spell check your Yahoo Mail emails, you must activate the feature in the Firefox options. It's a simple process, and you only have to do it once.

1. Select the Firefox menu in the upper-right corner, then choose Options.

2. Make sure the General tab is highlighted.

3. Select the Check your spelling as you type check box under the Language heading in the Language and Appearance section.

4. The change is saved automatically.

Activate Spell Check in Google Chrome

The spelling setup in Chrome is similar to the one in Firefox.

1. Go to the Menu icon in the upper-right corner of the Chrome browser and select Settings.

2. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings screen and select Advanced.

3. In the Languages section, turn on the Spell check toggle.

Activate Spell Check in Safari

Safari's spelling setup is handled from the Safari Edit menu on the menu bar.

1. Go to Edit on the Safari menu bar and select Spelling and Grammar.

   If you don't see Edit as an option, select the Settings gear in the upper-right corner and choose Show Menu Bar.

2. Select Check Spelling While Typing.

3. Optionally, select Check Grammar With Spelling.

Can You Spell Check Yahoo Mail Messages?

Yahoo Mail doesn't include a spell checker. However, web browsers like Firefox, Chrome, and Safari, have built-in spell checkers that check for errors as you type. When an error is found, the browser displays a red line beneath the problem word.
