Yahoo! Mail

DON'T DO IT! I used Yahoo Mail for years — it was the first email address I started. I kept it for years because I tied my life to it and I enjoyed the unlimited storage. Therefore, if you expect that NOTHING will ever go wrong with your email account, chose Yahoo.
My email account was hacked, and I phoned Yahoo to "lock" the account, so issues did not occur until I had access to a computer (all I had was my phone) to change the password, etc. I never regained access. Despite sending Yahoo a photo ID and more than ample information to verify my identity, they refused help me re-establish a new password. Further, they refused to allow me to re-establish a new password on my own online. This entire process took weeks, until they sent me an email stating that they would not correspond further about the issue. Keep in mind that I was the one that called to lock the account (as proven with a referenced number). They were rude, disrespectful, and absolutely no help.
I suggest choosing a provider that is willing to treat customers with some respect and dignity. I have had good luck with Gmail.
