Add-On Needed for a Basic Function, Confusing Settings

Seriously being told I have to download an add on to minimize this program. Surely before releasing a program one would make sure you had the basics sorted out. I don't know if this is made by a linux programmer but in real life add ons are not for basic functions but for additions to the basic program. To have the settings so confusing is not acceptable these days, it works but takes ages to setup and that is only because I have the patience to search the internet for help that I eventually got it sorted. If this is how Linux works, it is no wonder only a very small minority of people use it.
