I saw the earlier reviews for Spamihilator and at the time I used it too..with similar results...Now in 2012 it is updated with many new features, a smoother interface and many plugins I just could not be without. I think it is a must have for me now. As a spam filter for Imap (Gmail) it works flawlessly, for Pop (hotmail) it needs a little configuring.

First of all, so I don't have to type so much, the other one star review here says exactly what needs to be said. And I would like to offer my opinion to it: At first, as a single XP user, single account, This program worked flawlessly. Since I've added two more accounts to the system it has become corrupted and confused and is doing ALL of what the other reviewer is stating! I'm going to uninstall it for good now, and search for something else to use now... P.S.~I call this program very embedded because it never fully uninstalls itself. I tried uninstalling to repair it, and even going from old version, then uninstall old, then install new version won't don't help. :(

I installed Spamihilator after seeing it highly rated by About.com and others. My system is Windows XP, with 4 user accounts. After installing, there were several problems. First, mail for the different users was mixed up. Mail for user ""A"" would appear in the spam-box (called the ""Recycle Bin"" by Spamihilator) of user ""B"". When that happened, the mail could not be restored to the proper user, it was lost. I learned later from Spamihilator support that the product does not work with multiple users unless you completely log out, not just ""switch user"". There is no warning about this when you install the product. Second, the product performed quite poorly in identifying non-spam. Most of my good email was identified as spam, even after some ""learning"" by the system. Third, after uninstalling, the product did not restore the server settings for my users' email clients properly. I had to go back and manually correct them. I do not recommend this product.
