    Still The BestMay 04, 2012 By ggoose87
Ive been using Eudora forever. It has eliminated my use of actual file cabinets - in that not only emails but their attachments are archived and easily retrieved. I survived a major lawsuit BECAUSE I could accurately retrieve literally thousands of documents, as required. I have two regrets: 1) That there appears to be no way to convert to a paid memberhship now that it is not supported, and 2) That someday it might ""break"", and I'll have to switch to some less capable email client. Nothing comes close - Outlook simply has no such capability. I simply wish that someone would pick up where Eudora left off - and keep this wonderful product going. (Anyone who knows how to convert this abandoned product to paid status - please leave instructions!!!!!!

    I'd give it 20 stars if I could!July 30, 2010 By Skip_Thomsen
As others have commented, Eudora is the best email client there is. I've been using it for my personal email and for our business emails ever since the beginning. I've looked into others, Thunderbird for our Linux computer, for example. All of the others are clones of each other and NONE has the flexibility, ease of use, and just plain user-friendly ambiance of Eudora. So what a shame it is that the folks who gave us this remarkable program are now abandoning it. The excuse is apparently that they want to bring Eudora into the 21st Century. Right. I downloaded the new Eudora OSE, otherwise known as Penelope, and it is, guess what, Thunderbird! Same awkward and user-hostile interface, most of the most-used and most convenient features of Eudora are missing, and it's just sad. So we will continue using Eudora 7.1 on all of our computers (six of them) until it finally breaks. Eudora has already announced that we're on our own with the original Eudora and that they no longer support it. When it breaks, we're off to gmail, which we already use on our traveling computer and it does the job . . . much better than Thunderbird. Being Web based, our gmail is also available anywhere, on any computer, which is a desirable feature we were willing to sacrifice for the luxury of using Eudora. Rest in Peace, Eudora. You have many fans out there.

The oldest & still the best!February 23, 2010 By eatdrums
I Have been using Eudora since the early 90's. It has been s the most, faithful, easy to use tool on my computer for all these years. Others come and go, but, NOTHING compares to Eudora for ease of use, organizing ability, perfectly designed address book, and easy to use filters, which unlike Thunderbird, (my backup client) actually work......every time. The address book can be organized by folders, ie: Friends, Business, Internet. You can than stuff those folders, (Friend folder: subfolders: Joe, Sam, Susan, ect) making all of your addresses so easy to find. The same organizational genius is found in your mail folders. The program has never failed me in over 15 years of service, and like most of you, I have tried them all. Nothing compares to this, the standard by which all other clients are judged. Simply the best.

    I haven't found a better one yetDecember 23, 2009 By Phibunacci
I've used Eudora since 1998, when I got it along with a CD for Mosaic. I've tried Thunderbird, I forced myself to learn Outlook. But, I keep coming back to what those original Eudora people wrote. I think it should be king, (or perhaps Queen, after all its named after Miss Eudora.) I have just bought a new Macbook Pro after living the Windows world since it began. I dont think there is a better email out there yet... I am looking, but not convinced. Anyone got better news, then tell me.

Older, but still the bestDecember 19, 2009 By drjrherman
It works with all protocols, it's simple, mail folders can be easily organized, automatic filters can send emails to any folder you wish including annoying spam to a spma mailbox. The best feature is the handling of attachments, which are automatically loaded into an attachment directory making your inbox smaller and making the attachments available from any file manager. This is a major advantage copmpared to all MS mail programs, Thunderbird, and most others. This last feature alone is enough to want to use Eudora.

I have used Eudora since 1995. A solid mail client with none of the problems encountered with MS clients. Now, it is free. Not overly fancy. Just a well written application that keeps on going.

    Great Tool!April 15, 2009 By aracel
I've used Eudora on and off for years. It has a simple interface that is easy to get up and running. It will allow you to import your old mail from Outlook or Outlook Express so you don't lose what you already have. Check out the folder where the email is actually stored. Each message is stored separately from its attachments. So, should anything actually happen to your email, you can still get to them. I haven't used it in a few years. But the spam filters for the free edtion were a bit taxing to get into place. Once you did, however, it worked much better than Outlook's.
