2 out of 5interruptions and blocked accountsJune 06, 2011
By PJ2706
Hour long interruptions are occurring more often My account has been suddenly blocked now -apparently compromised - and proving impossible to recover through the autoservice and forums. I have been sent a false email for my backup to which a verification code has been sent. (If there is a hacker what kind of security is this.??) . Also wrong security question. I have provided a new email address which the auto service now uses -but still sends false personal information so that I cannot restore my account. Apart from the immense inconvenience and risks ( I have socially disadvantaged clients as charitable patient clients who are now cut off. but what kind of support is this in the name of security?

I just quit hotmail. I have used them since 2005, and I will concede that their service has improved. Their spam filter is one of the best I've used. However, they are too slow for me. It takes me almost a full minute just to get one message to open up. I can't deal with their slow loading anymore.

I just opened an Msn email account after using AOL for over a decade. My AOL got flooded with junk mail and I got fed up with it. I have to say that I absolutely LOVE my new Msn account!! Why? Well, honestly, it's because of the beautiful emoticons!!! I love them!!! They are so cute! Plus the set-up on the email page (interface) is so simple and easy to use. I'm very visual and I just liked the looks and simplicity of it. So far so good. It's been 5 months and I have not sent any large documents or files yet, only pictures, with no problems at all. It won't hurt to give it a try and cancel if you don't like it.

MSN Hotmail comes with solid security features and a straight forward, easy to use yet quite powerful interface. Unfortunately, Hotmail lacks POP or IMAP access, secure messaging is not supported, and email management tools as well as the spam filter could use some improvement.
5 out of 5Hotmail, adios!November 11, 2010

On 5 September 2010 I wrote a review about Hotmail, expressing my problems with it. Since then, I have left Hotmail for good, and glad to be rid of it! In addition to the usual problems (spam, slow, incomplete printing, etc), Hotmail allowed a scammer to hijack my account. He used my contact list to send out scams for money. I had no access to my account and Hotmail has no customer support to have it renewed. Interesting that they will give my account to a scammer, but will not give it back to me! After a nightmare of effort, I at last filed an ""abuse"" report, got my account back long enough to delete everything, and closed it out permanently! I have moved to Yahoo and enjoy the difference. Beware of Hotmail. Like Windows itself, it is a flawed system that will give you nothing but problems.

Okay, Angry A forgot her password and she tried to change her password but instead it gave her a new e-mail to log in with but hello! She doesn't know her password or have a new password to log in with! And then she finds out that her account is blocked!? What in the world?! So to fix that, hotmail wants her to give them her old password which is the one that she forgot in the first place! What in the world?! she is seriously disturbed with windows live right now. Her future is on the line!!!! College stuff is in her account that she cant even log in to! What in the world?!

What has happened to MSN Hotmail. Since the last upgrade I have not been able to make any sense out of it. Everything runs together and nothing is like it has always been. It is definitely not an improvement. How soon will they change it back to something we can understand. Am I the only one who doesn't like it? I'm thinking of switching to Yahoo.
1 out of 5Hotmail has changed for the worseSeptember 05, 2010

I have been a member of Hotmail for some years, and I liked it -- until recently. The news changes have altered my views. There are some good features, but most are a pain. Only one page of an email prints, leaving the rest of it blank, and adds two pages of blank paper except for Hotmail logos. The processes are slow. I have attempted to complain three times but there is no way to reach support. I am contemplating a move to another server more responsive and more functional. Worst of it is, a change effects my business. Hotmail's image needs a makeover.
1 out of 5Windows Live Hotmail StinksJuly 26, 2010

I never have liked Windows Live and I especially do not like the Bing search feature. Now I have it crammed down my throat on my MSN Hotmail. Is there any way that I can get my account back to the old MSN Hotmail which was a lot better? I do agree with the other review, the help end of the program is nonexistence. Bing is so bad that I can not even imagine any one even thinking about putting it on the air. Has everyone had a brain embolism?

I have been a member of hotmail since, many years. And the pass 2 weeks I have been having nothing but problems with them. They never answer back, and I sent many e-mails for help. And most of the time the help center is down. I have blocked people and they still can contact me. Even MSN sucks! I have blocked people there more then once and they still can contact me. I even called them and got a hold of some one, but they refused to help me. I was told to use the online service. I would advise NOT TO USE HOTMAIL!
5 out of 5Out going and Incoming mail size limited.August 20, 2009

Its Irony, All emails have outgoing limit, thats everyone knows, but there is no limit in incoming mail. But MSN can receive mails not bigger then 10 mb. Its really the most important drawback every one should know.
1 out of 5Terrible Customer ServiceJune 22, 2009
By Debbiebacz
I've been waiting for 7 days to find out why my account has been closed and how to go about getting re-opened. There is no customer Service number to call. All you can do is make request and inquiries by email. I've noticed there are quite a few customers with the same situation. Thank God I'm not using it for business or I would be out of business.
1 out of 5Terrible SupportMay 29, 2009

My email was closed for not good reason. Now I can't access my address book. I have been waiting for 5 days for them to contact me and they have only sent form response mail. There are no phone numbers for support and no real answers for why it was closed. Furthermore I found many others on various blogs with the same complaint. I would not trust hotmail again.
