What to Know

  • Yahoo Mail's POP server address is pop.mail.yahoo.com.
  • Your POP username is your Yahoo Mail username.

To use Yahoo Mail in a different email client (for example, Outlook), use these POP server settings to tell the client where and how to download incoming emails.

Yahoo Mail POP Server Settings

Follow the instructions for the email client in which you want to set up Yahoo Mail. When you arrive at the screen that requests the POP settings, enter the following:

  • Yahoo Mail POP server address: pop.mail.yahoo.com
  • Yahoo Mail POP username: Your Yahoo Mail username (for example, if your email address is person@yahoo.com, "person" is the username)
  • Yahoo Mail POP password: Your Yahoo Mail password
  • Yahoo Mail POP port: 995
  • Yahoo Mail POP TLS/SSL required: yes

Some email clients require the full email address for your username.

In addition to the POP settings, which are necessary to receive emails, you'll need the Yahoo Mail SMTP server settings so that the email program can send email through your account.
