Windows Tools to Access Web-Based Email via POP or IMAP

Web-based email is great, but the comfort of a "real" email program isn't bad either. Fortunately, there are utilities that let you combine the two and provide access to your favorite Web-based email service through your favorite desktop email client.

FreePOPs

FreePOPs is a highly flexible tool for accessing all kinds of resources — most prominently free web-based email accounts — in any email program through POP. (Windows, Mac, Linux)

GetMail

GetMail is a simple and functional tool that forwards messages from Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail and POP accounts to any email address.

gPopper

gPopper lets you fetch mail from your Gmail account using any email client fast and reliably.

HotApoc

HotApoc is a simple and easy to use Hotmail to POP tool that lets you read and write Hotmail messages with your favorite email program.

Hotmail Popper

Hotmail Popper is as simple — and as functional — as a Hotmail to POP tool can be.

IzyMail

IzyMail turns Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail and AOL into highly useful, full-blown IMAP accounts, but it also lets you access Web-based email accounts via the more traditional POP and any email client.

Mail Forward for Windows

Mail Forward for Windows fetches mail from Gmail, Windows Live Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, POP or IMAP accounts and forwards it to any other email address reliably and without much fuss.

MrPostman

MrPostman offers a simple and useful interface to a number of webmail services (including Yahoo! Mail and Hotmail) that lets you download mail to your email client easily.

Web2Pop

Web2Pop lets you access your favorite Web-based email service (Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, Mail.com, for example) with your favorite email client.

YPOPs!

YPOPs! provides reliable, flexible, easy to use and secure access to your Yahoo! Mail account in any email client.
