Smart Sender - Email Marketing Software

Smart Sender - Email Marketing Software

Heinz Tschabitscher
The Bottom Line
Smart Sender is a reliable and particularly easy to use tool for sending emails in bulk, but unfortunately it misses mail merging and other basic capabilities of an email marketing application.
Smart Sender is no longer available.
Pros
  • Smart Sender offers reliable and fast message delivery
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Smart Sender lacks mail merging capabilities
  • No list management
  • No internal sending engine
Description
  • Smart Sender delivers bulk emails through multiple external SMTP servers.
  • Supports plain text and HTML emails.
  • Detailed (but a bit confusing) log of delivery success.
  • Multithreaded operation for maximum performance.
  • Smart Sender supports Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP.
Guide Review - Smart Sender 1.01 - Email Marketing Software
The second part of its name tells a lot about Smart Sender: it is primarily concerned with sending mail. This is does quite effectively using multiple (external) SMTP servers as well as multiple threads.

Unfortunately, Smart Sender is not capable of doing much more. As a tool for email marketing it is virtually useless due to completely missing mail merging or list management. The mailing list doesn't even have a field for the recipients' names.

The included message editor doesn't provide any comfort or help either. You'd better compose your messages elsewhere (in a plain text or HTML editor) and use Smart Sender for reliable, efficient and fast mail delivery only. That's what it can do.
