How to Have Windows Mail or Outlook Express Send Mail Immediately

Do you want your Send to send — or to save the outgoing message to an Outbox folder?

If you prefer the former, but Windows Mail and Outlook Express still do the latter, make sure you are connected when clicking Send — and that your email program is configured for immediate message delivery.

Have Windows Mail or Outlook Express Send Mail Immediately

To make Windows Mail or Outlook Express deliver outgoing messages right away (provided you are online):

  • Select Tools | Options... from the menu.
  • Go to the Send tab.
  • Make sure Send messages immediately is checked.
  • Click OK.
