Bcc: Hidden from Recipients, But Not from You

It is comforting and convenient to know that the recipients you entered in the Bcc: field in Windows Live Mail, Windows Mail or Outlook Express are not visible to each other, or any other recipient.

They are also hidden when you view the sent message in the Sent Items folder. Wouldn't it be comforting and convenient if you, at least, could find out who you bcc:ed on a message in Windows Live Mail, Windows Mail or Outlook Express? While the Bcc: recipients are not overtly visible, you can still uncover them if you want to make sure somebody got a copy.

  • Select Properties from the menu that comes up.
  • Go to the Details tab.
  • Somewhere near the top, you will find a line beginning with Bcc: . It contains all the Bcc: recipients of the message.
