Sure, I could encrypt all my emails in PocoMail, but military strength cryptography seems to be a bit of overkill. I think I'll protect the pertinent PocoMail folders with a password instead.
Protect a PocoMail Folder with a Password
To protect a PocoMail folder (called "mailbox" in PocoMail) with a password:
- Click on the folder with the right mouse button.
- Select Properties... from the context menu.
- Go to the Privacy tab.
- Make sure Protect this mailbox with password: is selected.
- Enter the new password for the PocoMail folder twice.
- Click OK.
To remove a password from a PocoMail folder, follow the steps above, but make sure the checkbox next to Protect this mailbox with password: is not selected.
When protecting a PocoMail folder with a password keep in mind that this offers only very limited security. The mailbox is not encrypted or protected on the disk and can easily be opened in another email program or text viewer.
