How to Edit a Received Email in PocoMail

By , About.com Guide

An old, important email you've imported from Eudora to Outlook Express to Outlook to Mozilla Thunderbird to, finally, PocoMail. It's still here, fresh and relevant, but it has suffered, too: extraneous information from one of the email programs internal storage format show up in corners, it is not re-wrapping (of course), and the attachment looks goofy.

In PocoMail, finally, you can tend to your old and important email. Dig into its source and remove the code, add a "format=flowed" parameter and change the attachment MIME-type, too.

You can also edit received emails in PocoMail for other changes, of course, quickly editing the subject or sender, for example.

Edit a Received Email in PocoMail

To edit the subject, sender, recipient and body of any message in PocoMail:

  • Open the desired email.
  • Select Message | Edit Stored Message | Edit Complete Message from the menu.
  • Edit the Subject, Email, To, CC and BCC fields as well as the message text as you see fit.
  • To edit attachments, go to the Attachments tab.
  • Click Save.

To edit any message's source in PocoMail:

  • Open the message in PocoMail.
  • Choose Message | Edit Stored Message | Edit Complete Message from the menu.
  • Click Raw View in the message toolbar.
    • Note that switching to raw view will erase all changes you have already made to the message. To retain them, save first and re-open the message editor using Edit Complete Message.
  • Now click Yes.
  • Make any desired changes.
  • Click Save.
