How to Use Incremental Search to Find Mail Fast in Pegasus Mail

By , About.com Guide

Emails tend to be difficult to find. This starts when you have two messages in a mailbox and it gets exponentially more difficult with every message you add. Fortunately, Pegasus Mail provides a feature that makes finding messages in the current folder a lot quicker: incremental search.

Incremental search means that Pegasus Mail takes you to the first matching mail as you type. The best way to find out how incremental search works is to try it.

Use Incremental Search to Find Mail Fast in Pegasus Mail

To use incremental search in Pegasus Mail:

  • Open the folder.
  • Hit F5 to open the Incremental text search dialog.
  • Start typing what you are looking for.
    • Pegasus Mail automatically jumps to the first message matching your search criteria in the folder.
  • When you have found the message you were looking for, hit Esc to close the Incremental text search dialog.

Alternatively, you can start incremental search by selecting Folder | Incremental search... from the menu.
