Do you have more than one email address? Would you like your replies in Pegasus Mail to come from the corresponding addresses — sending work-related mail wearing your vocational hat while personal emails have your personal email address in the personal From: line?

For this purpose, Pegasus Mail lets you set up as many email Identities as you desire or need. Each identity can have its own email address, default signature, name to appear in the From: header, default font, folder to save sent mail to, and more. Just about everything you find in the Tools | Options and Tools | Internet Options dialogs is a per-identity setting.

Create Multiple Email Identities in Pegasus Mail

To set up multiple email identities in Pegasus Mail:

  • Select Tools | Identities... from the menu.
  • Click Add....
  • Enter a descriptive name for your new identity under Name for new identity:.
  • Optionally, choose an identity whose current settings you want to copy to the new identity under Base new identity on:.
  • Click OK.

If you set up your <Default> identity to have all the settings you also want to be common to all your Pegasus Mail identities before creating them, you avoid having to change them for each.

To switch your identity, you can use the identity selector in the Pegasus Mail toolbar, but you can also select comfortably while composing a message.
