How to Force a Message to be Sent in Plain Text in Pegasus Mail

By , About.com Guide

In Pegasus Mail, you can write emails using your favorite fonts, colors, bold face and other formatting.

That's convenient, pretty and fun, but not all recipients appreciate messages using rich formatting. If you send a message to a mailing list, for example, it is usually best to use plain text only.

But how do you make sure a message you send does not contain any HTML formatting? Fortunately, there is a surefire indicator. Look at the header area of the email you are composing (if you can't see the To:, Subj: and Cc: fields, press Ctrl-F8). If the Rich Text box is checked, your message contains rich formatting.
