Using standard email protocols, you can download messages from your Zenbe account into Outlook and send from your Zenbe address conveniently as well.
IMAP or POP?
While POP provides an easy interface for downloading new messages from Zenbe, IMAP lets you access the Zenbe Inbox seamlessly — from multiple Outlook installations even.
Access Zenbe in Outlook Using IMAP
To set up Zenbe access in Outlook:
- Select Tools | Account Settings... from the menu in Outlook.
- Go to the E-mail tab.
- Click New....
- Make sure Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP is selected.
- Click Next >.
- Enter your name (what you want to appear in the From: line of messages you send) under Your Name:.
- Now enter your full Zenbe address under E-mail Address:.
- Make sure Manually configure server settings or additional server types is checked.
- Click Next >.
- Make sure Internet E-mail is selected.
- Click Next >.
- Select IMAP under Account Type:.
- Enter "imap.zenbe.com" under Incoming mail server:.
- Type "smtp.zenbe.com" under Outgoing mail server (SMTP):.
- Type your full Zenbe email address under User Name:.
- If your Zenbe address is "example@zenbe.com", for example, do type "example@zenbe.com".
- Type your Zenbe password under Password:.
- Click More Settings ....
- Go to the Outgoing Server tab.
- Make sure My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication is checked.
- Now go to the Advanced tab.
- Select SSL under Use the following type of encrypted connection: for both Incoming server (IMAP): and Outgoing server (SMTP):.
- Make sure "993" is entered under Server Port Numbers for Incoming server (IMAP):.
- Type "587" under Server Port Numbers for Outgoing server (SMTP):.
- Click OK.
- Now click Next >.
- If you get an Internet Security Warning about a non-verifiable security certificate:
- Click View Certificate.
- Verify the certificate is issued to "pop.zenbe.com".
- Click OK.
- Now click Yes.
- Click Finish.
- Click Close.
Access Zenbe in Outlook Using POP
To set up Zenbe email in Outlook fetching messages using POP:
- Select Tools | Account Settings... from the menu in Outlook.
- Go to the E-mail tab.
- Click New....
- Make sure Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP is selected.
- Click Next >.
- Enter your name under Your Name:.
- Type your full Zenbe address under E-mail Address:.
- Make sure Manually configure server settings or additional server types is checked.
- Click Next >.
- Make sure Internet E-mail is selected.
- Click Next >.
- Make sure POP3 is selected under Account Type:.
- Enter "pop.zenbe.com" under Incoming mail server:.
- Type "smtp.zenbe.com" under Outgoing mail server (SMTP):.
- Now type your full Zenbe email address under User Name:.
- If your Zenbe address is "example@zenbe.com", for example, enter "example@zenbe.com".
- Type your Zenbe password under Password:.
- Click More Settings ....
- Go to the Outgoing Server tab.
- Make sure My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication is checked.
- Now go to the Advanced tab.
- Make sure This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) is checked under Incoming server (POP3).
- Verify "995" is entered under Server Port Numbers for Incoming server (POP3).
- Select SSL under Use the following type of encrypted connection: for Outgoing server (SMTP):.
- Make sure "993" is entered under Server Port Numbers for Incoming server (IMAP):.
- Type "587" under Server Port Numbers for Outgoing server (SMTP):.
- Click OK.
- Now click Next >.
- Click Finish.
- Click Close.
