How to Turn Off ICQ Integration in Outlook

I really like ICQ. But since it sits in my system tray all the time anyway, I don't need it to integrate with Outlook.

This Outlook integration causes but security warnings, odd behavior and another toolbar, anyway. Fortunately, hidden in Outlook's configuration chaos, there is an option that can be used to turn off ICQ integration with Outlook.

Turn Off ICQ Integration in Outlook

To disable ICQ integration in Outlook:

• Select Tools | Options from Outlook's menu.
• Go to the Other tab.
• Click on Advanced Options.
• Select COM Add-Ins.
• Make sure the ICQ Express checkbox is cleared.
• Close all dialogs with OKs.
