How to Save a Message as Text with Windows Mail or Outlook Express

Saving an email message as an email message is nice, but sometimes you may just want to save the text in the body as a text file — to use it in another document, for example, or for filing and archiving.

Save a Message as Text with Windows Mail or Outlook Express

To save a message as a plain text file with Windows Mail or Outlook Express:

• Open the message in Outlook Express.
• Select File | Save As... from the menu.
• Select Text Files (*.txt) from the file type drop-down menu.
• Give your file a name.
• Click Save.
