Choose and Insert Signatures Manually in Windows Live Mail or Outlook Express

By , About.com Guide

If you have created only one signature in Windows Live Mail, Windows Mail or Outlook Express, the decision which signature to use is an easy one. But these email programs allow you to create as many signatures as you like for all the different types of emails you write.

Choose and Insert Signatures Manually in Windows Live Mail, Windows Mail or Outlook Express

While composing a message in Windows Live Mail, Windows Mail or Outlook Express, you can select which signature you want to use:

  • Select Insert | Signature from the message's menu.
    • In Windows Live Mail, hold down the Alt key if you cannot see the menu bar.
  • Now choose the desired signature from the list.

Setting Things on Automatic

If you find you usually choose the same signature anyway, you can make Windows Live Mail, Windows Mail or Outlook Express insert it by default. And if you typically use one signature for your work account, for example, and another for mail sent from your private email address, you can tell Windows Live Mail, Windows Mail or Outlook Express to choose accordingly, too.
