How to Use MobileMe Mail Keyboard Shortcuts

For keyboard shortcuts, you have Mac OS X Mail, Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird. Where you cannot use a desktop email program, though, you still have MobileMe Mail on the web — and you've got the small but handy set of shortcuts it provides.

You can delete emails fast, for example, start replies and format your text as you type it.

Use MobileMe Mail Keyboard Shortcuts

To operate MobileMe Mail efficiently with the keyboard, use the following shortcut combination. On Windows and Linux, use Ctrl instead of Command (Mac).

In the Message List

  • Command-Shift-N: Start a new message
  • Down: Go to the next message
  • Up: Go to the previous message
  • Shift-Down and Shift-Up: Highlight a range of messages
  • Command-A: Select all messages in the folder

With One or More Messages Highlighted

  • Enter: Open the highlighted messages in separate windows
  • Del (Mac) or Backspace (Windows, Linux): Delete the highlighted messages
  • Command-Shift-J: Mark the highlighted messages as spam
  • Command-Shift-U: Toggle read status (mark highlighted messages as read or unread)
  • Command-Shift-L: Toggle flagged status (mark highlighted messages as flagged or remove flags)
  • Command-Shift-N: Start a new message

With One Message Open

  • Del (Mac) or Backspace (Windows, Linux): Delete the message
  • Command-Shift-R: Start a reply
  • Command-P: Print the messages
  • Space: Page through the message, then open the next message
  • Command-Shift-N: Start a new message

While Composing a Message

  • Command-Shift-R: Toggle Reply All, adding or removing other recipients when replying
  • Command-S: Save as draft
  • Command-Shift-D: Send the message
  • Command-B: Make text bold
  • Command-I: Make text italic
  • Command-U: Underline text
  • Command-= (equal sign): Make text bigger
  • Command-- (minus): Make text smaller
