Select "Mail | Preferences..." from the Mac OS X Mail menu
Go to the "Accounts" category
Enter your name under "Full Name:"
Make sure "POP" is selected under "Account Type:"
Enter "Windows Live Hotmail" under "Description:" for "Outgoing Mail Server"
Now click "Create"
