How to Access Inbox.com in Mac OS X Mail

You don't think so? Fortunately, you don't have to access your Inbox.com email account via your browser alone. You can download mail into the fast-finding and clever-convenient Mac OS X Mail, too.

Access Inbox.com in Mac OS X Mail

To set up an Inbox.com account in Mac OS X Mail:

  • Make sure POP access is enabled in Inbox.com.
  • Select Mail | Preferences... from the menu in Mac OS X Mail.
  • Go to the Accounts category.
  • Click + under the accounts list.
  • Enter your name under Full Name:.
  • Type your Inbox.com email address under Email Address:.
  • Now enter your Inbox.com password under Password:.
  • Click Continue.
  • Make sure POP is selected under Account Type:.
  • Type "Inbox.com" under Description:.
  • Enter "my.inbox.com" under Incoming Mail Server:.
  • Check that Mac OS X Mail entered your Inbox.com user name (what precedes "@inbox.com" in your Inbox.com address) under User Name: and trust the password under Password: is correct.
  • Click Continue.
  • Type "Inbox.com" under Description: for Outgoing Mail Server.
  • Enter "my.inbox.com" under Outgoing Mail Server:.
  • Make sure Use Authentication is checked.
  • Leave User Name: and Password: untouched.
  • Click Continue.
  • Click Create.
