To compose a new message from the Mac OS X Mail Dock icon:
- Control-Click on the Mac OS X Mail Dock icon to bring up its menu.
- Alternatively, you can also click on the icon with the right mouse button or
- click-and-hold it until the menu comes up.
- Select Compose New Message from the menu.
