How to Send a Message From a Different Account in Mac OS X Mail

By , About.com Guide

If you have more than one account (or more than one address per account) in Mac OS X Mail you can select which you want to use for a message you send. This will most importantly change the address used in the From: email header.

Send a Message From a Different Account in Mac OS X Mail

To change the account used for sending a message in Mac OS X Mail:

  • Click on the From: (or Account: in earlier versions of Mail) drop-down box right below the Subject: field.
  • Select the desired account.

If you find you use a "different" account more often than the default, make it the default instead.
