How to Instantly Spot Emails Sent to You Directly or via Cc in iPhone Mail

By , About.com Guide

Of all the emails you get, are those where you are but an obscure Bcc recipient typically the most important and interesting? What about those CCed to you?

What about the messages sent directly to you? If you find these emails most critical and urgent, on average, iPhone Mail can help you find them faster and easier, on average.

Instantly Spot Emails Sent to You Directly or via Cc in iPhone Mail

To see in the iPhone Mail message list whether any email was sent to you directly (you are in the To: field), whether you appear in the Cc: field, or if neither is the case:

  • Go to the Home screen.
  • Open Settings.
  • Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  • Make sure Show To/Cc Label is enabled under Mail.

Now, a small To label will appear in front of each email in the message list that has the email address associated with the current account (not any address in your own Contacts entry) in the To: field; Cc appears before messages in the list where the address appears in the Cc: field.
