How to Empty the Trash Automatically When You Exit IncrediMail

By , About.com Guide

I delete 9 out of 10 emails I get (8 without opening them).

This makes my Deleted Items folder in IncrediMail grow rapidly. And while it's nice to know that messages are not purged immediately, emptying the trash from time to time seems to be a good idea. Just before exiting IncrediMail looks like the perfect time to do that. Fortunately, IncrediMail can do it right then, automatically.

Empty the Trash Automatically When You Exit IncrediMail

To have IncrediMail empty the Deleted Items folder automatically when you exit:

  • Select Tools | Options... from the IncrediMail menu.
  • Go to the Advanced tab.
  • Make sure Empty messages from 'Deleted Items' folder on exit is selected under General.
  • Click OK.

Delete Mail Immediately, Bypassing the Trash

You can also purge a message immediately without the safety net of the Deleted Items folder.
