How to Forward a Message Excluding its Attachments with Windows Live Hotmail

By Heinz Tschabitscher, About.com

Often, when you forward a message you also want to forward its attachments. This is what Windows Live Hotmail does by default. If you forward a message, Windows Live Hotmail automatically adds all attachments of the original message as attachments to the new message.

Sometimes, however, the attachments are not what you want to forward and add nothing but huge MB ballast to your forward. Fortunately, Windows Live Hotmail provides an easy way to get rid of these automatically attached but unnecessary files.

To forward a message but not the files attached to it with Windows Live Hotmail:

  • Open the message you want to forward.
  • Click Forward.
  • Click the x to the right of each file you want to remove.
