Restore Your Gmail Contacts to a Previous State

Importing contacts to Gmail isn't hard, but it can go wrong. When that happens, don't worry. You can restore previous contact settings from any time during the last 30 days. Gmail automatically creates and keeps backup snapshots for your Gmail address book, so restoring your entire Gmail contact list to the state in which it was at any point in the last month is a snap.

Follow these steps to recover the state of your Gmail contacts from any point in the last 30 days.

  1. From your Gmail account, in the upper-right corner, select Google apps (the icon that looks like a grid of dots).
