How to Hide Labels from Subjects in Gmail

By , About.com Guide

The overview is great; until it has your view glance over so much that you can see barely anything at all.

Take Gmail's labels, for example. One succinct colorful tag here and there in front of an important email's subject is great, but an All Mail view is filled with huge globs of paint pushing the Subject: to the right, into oblivion, is less great and useful.

Fortunately, it's easy to remove tags from subjects in Gmail. You can still see the tags when opening the email, after all, and find all relevant emails under their labels.
