How to Whitelist a Domain in FastMail

By Heinz Tschabitscher, About.com

If you add somebody to your address book in FastMail, they get a bonus when your incoming mail is filtered for spam. Depending on your settings, mail from these senders is either whitelisted completely or at least a lot less likely to be regarded as spam.

Now, you can easily whitelist individual senders by making them address book contacts, but what about complete domains? What if you get lots of mail from ever-changing addresses at "example.com"? Then you can whitelist the complete domain in FastMail, also via the address book.

Whitelist a Domain in FastMail

To whitelist a domain in FastMail:

  • Select Address Book from the FastMail navigation bar.
  • Click Create new.
  • Select Email / Phone.
  • Type "*@" (without the quotation marks) followed by the desired domain name.
    • To whitelist the "about.com" domain, for example, type "*@about.com".
  • Click Save Address.
  • Now click Save & Done.
