How to Label Messages Containing Attachments Automatically in Eudora

By , About.com Guide

Attachments Are Important

Usually, attachments are important. Some are important because they are dangerous (viruses!), but many are important because they are reports, work, or family pictures.

Whatever the reason may be why you want to catch them, in Eudora you can attach a label to them with a filter automatically.

Label Messages Containing Attachments Automatically in Eudora

To make Eudora label messages containing attachments automatically:

  • Select Tools | Filters from the menu in Eudora.
  • Click New.
  • The filter should read:
    • Match Incoming
    • Header: Content-Type:
    • contains multipart/mixed.
  • As the Action to take, choose Make Label.
  • Click on None and select the desired label.
  • Close the Filters window, saving changes.

Finally, you should move this filter to the very top of your filters so it can process all incoming messages before other filters move them to specific folders and stop further filtering.
