A playlist in Bloglines is like a folder, but while every subscription can be part of exactly one folder, it can belong to any and every playlist. Maybe there are feeds you read in the morning and other feeds before going to bed, and some sites you read at both morning and night. Maybe you have favorite fun feeds and feeds for work, but you need the weather news in any case.
However you read and digest your news, playlists can help you stay organized and get exactly what you want when you want it, in one neat place.
Organize and Read News Feeds in Playlists with Bloglines
To set up playlists in Bloglines:
- Go to the Playlists tab in Bloglines.
- Follow the Add link at the top of the Playlists pane.
- Type the desired name of your playlist ("Fun", e.g., or "Morning News" or "Project X") under Playlist Name.
- Make sure each feed you want to appear in your playlist is checked under Choose Feeds for this Playlist.
- You can add an entire folder by checking it. The feeds will appear inside a folder in your playlist, too. To move them to the top level, check each individual feed but make sure the folder is not checked.
- Click Create.
When you open a playlist in the Playlists pane, you'll get a newspaper-like overview of the latest headlines from the playlist's feeds. Drag and drop the boxes to re-arrange them or click the - sign to collapse a feed.
