RSS feeds are really simple to use, but when web sites set them up, some mishaps can occur, more or less consciously.

One of the things I find most annoying are feeds that always make all their entries look fresh or updated whether they have been changed or not. There are not many feeds that are misconfigured like that, but next to getting rid of them only one thing can be done to tame them in Bloglines.
To ignore updated items for specific feeds in Bloglines:
- With the offending feed loaded in Bloglines, click edit subscription in the feed's header.
- Make sure Ignore is selected under Updated Items:.
- Click Update.
