By default, the Process remaining [x] emails as spam is automatically checked in email advisories you get from Aliencamel. I recommend you turn that off, but do use the feature when it makes sense. Depending on how many emails you have included in your advisories and how long it has been since you last checked your mail, treating every message not shown in the advisory as spam can put good mail at risk of being lost.
Fortunately, Aliencamel not only sorts messages by spaminess, it includes a "spam gauge" that shows you the likeliness of every message to be spam. This gauge can serve as a good indicator of what kind of message to expect "beyond" the advisory email.
Process Remaining Emails in Aliencamel Advisories as Spam Intelligently
To intelligently process remaining emails in Aliencamel as spam:
- Visit Aliencamel in your browser.
- Click My Settings.
- Go to Advisory Settings.
- Make sure When there are more pending emails than shown on the Pending Email Advisory, the check box to process remaining spam-ranked emails as spam is ticked? is not checked.
- Click OK.
In each Pending Email Advisory:
- Look at the spam gauge of the last message in the list.
- If it is sufficiently high (half way up usually is, but you may be more cautious in the beginning), check Process remaining [x] emails as spam.
- If the spam score of the last message is low and you suspect a good message could have gotten a higher score accidentally, do not check Process remaining [x] emails as spam.
- Click Process
If you chose not to have the remaining messages processed as spam automatically, you can review them now right at the Aliencamel site or wait for the next advisory. If any new messages have arrived since the last advisory was sent to you, checking Process remaining [x] emails as spam has no effect on them, of course. They will not be treated as spam automatically.
